Native of Indiana. BS in Agriculture, Purdue University, 1951; MS in Entomology, 1956, and PhD in Entomology, 1961, University of Illinois. Research Entomologist, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C., 1962-1990. Research Associate, FSCA 1994- present. Taxonomy and host plant associations of coleopterous family Bruchidae (seed beetles) of Western Hemisphere. Especially interested in Caribbean and circum-Caribbean and Chilean faunae. Presently collaborating with taxonomists in Chile, Western Australia, South Africa, Argentina, and Brazil.
